December's Special Events
On December 13th, the second and third graders of St. Johns helped teach us and celebrate St. Lucy's Day. In a Swedish tradition, the oldest girl in the family awakens before the rest of the household to don the costume seen above. She will then wake her family with a plate of treats.
The first grade class joined with the second and third graders to create posters as props for our song in the Christmas Program. The Program, held on December 19th, will include special readings, hand bell tunes, and vocal arrangements.

Rosaries to Honor Mary
Last week, we created rosaries for us to use in the month of October.
"The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful." (stcyprian.org)
Come see our rosaries at Open House on September 29th, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm!
