First Friday Faithfulness

At St. Johns, we devote the first Friday of every month to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Each class keeps a banner and picture of the Sacred Heart for an entire month, as a reminder of His love for us, and then we pass it to the next class.  Pictured:  Jett, Corbin, and Savannah process up the aisle in church to pass on the banner to Third Grade.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

The First Graders at St. John the Baptist Catholic School have been very busy these last few weeks:
Jett and Corbin helped mix the dough for our Christmas ornaments...

Our elf, Puzzles, has been keeping us entertained....

We enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast...

We helped disguise some turkeys to keep them from being eaten for Thanksgiving dinner...

And we dressed in red carpet attire...

We can't wait to see what happens next!

Appreciating the Performing Arts

The St. Johns First Grade had several chances to enjoy the performing arts this week.

First, they played Vocab Act It Out!, a game in which the students act out vocabulary words for their classmates to guess.

Next, we laughed and smiled while we watched Gabby, Grant, and Anne Marie practice their speeches for the Speech Meet on Saturday.

No One Fights Alone

First Grade wore green to support parent Mike Jones in his fight against cancer.  We also received the Sacred Heart of Jesus banner for the month of November.  These are both great reminders that we all have supporters in our lives.

Fire Safety Month

The Lower Grades of St. Johns School visited the Smithton Firehouse on Thursday.  We learned about fire safety and practiced escaping from a burning home.
