Light Waves

Our next unit in Science class has us studying light.  We've learned that light can be transmitted, reflected, or blocked.  We've participated in several experiments, proving that light helps us see better and finding out which materials transmit the most light.

Happy Catholic Schools Week!

Brynn dressed as Rose Philippine Duchesne and we all participated in a presentation about her life.

We visited the Scholastic Book Fair and let our imaginations run free!

Nicholas and Charlie won the class Spelling Bee and went on to the 1st through 3rd grade Bee.

In honor of St. John Bosco, we asked a juggler to visit and we had a blast!

We participated in the Silly Olympics on Wednesday.  (Unfortunately, I don't have many pictures because I was the emcee.)

We also took our place in a Living Rosary.

Father Jesse Esqueda spoke about his mission in Tijuana helping the poor.  Our school was able to present him with a donation, thanks to everyone's generous participation in the Penny War!

Our Kindergarten Super Spellers each spelled a tough word in front of the Spelling Bee audience.

Then Charlie and Nicholas took their places in the 1st through 3rd grade Spelling Bee.  Although they did not win, we are incredibly proud of them!

Father Stan blessed our throats for St. Blaise's feast day.

Emily and Calin taught us about the presidents and led us in some fun projects and games.

Thanks to all for sending your children to St. Johns.  We respect the sacrifices you make to give your child a religious education.  I feel truly blessed to work with these amazing children!!
