Catching Up

First Grade has been very busy these last few weeks...

We proudly recorded the Pledge of Allegiance for WIL radio!

We wrote and presented our first personal narratives.

St. Nick made a surprise early visit!
Our Elf on the Shelf, "Puzzles", came with St. Nick!
He sure has been mischievous!

We wore our PJs to school...and got a little sleepy....

We sang our hearts out for Jesus at the Christmas Program.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We Are NOT Turkeys!!

First Grade was given an assignment to disguise a turkey so it wouldn't be eaten for Thanksgiving.  The results were creative, thoughtful, and so funny!
"I am not a turkey.  I am a highway worker, my name is Tom.  Please don't eat me so I can see Santa.  You should try a ham for Thanksgiving."
Carter

"Are you looking for Tom Turkey?  I have not seen him.  I am not a turkey so please leave me alone.  I am Santa Claus.  So, I am not for dinner this year.  Ho, Ho, Ho!"
Sophie

"I am a sheep.  I would not taste good because I would taste like fuzz.  I would taste like wool."
Caleb

"My name is Olaf.  I met my friends at the beach.  If you put me in the oven I will melt."
Ava

"I don't want to be eaten because I would miss my husband!  I love to eat leaves.  I am a giraffe.  Please do not eat me!  It is shady here."
Audrey

"My name is Annie.  I am a pilgrim.  I do not want to be eaten because I want to live.  I like life.  I would miss my family."
Kaylin

Lessons From St. Vincent de Paul

Last week, St. Johns students learned about St. Vincent de Paul and his passion for helping the poor.  We tried to emulate him as we brought in cans of food for the poor in our area.
